Small-Sided Game Players are divided into two teams. On the coaches command a player from each team runs with the ball around the cone and into the game. As the players enter the game the coach will say the color of the team he wants to defend. The defending player leaves their ball and enters the exercise as the defender. The attacking player trys to use skill moves to get past the defender to create space to run with the ball through one of the two gates. If the defender wins the ball they try to score on the opposite end. Make it competitive, first team to a set number of points win. Coaching Points Players should be encouraged to use the skill moves that they have learned Push the ball with the pinky toe or laces Bigger pushes when there is space available and smaller pushes for limited space Can you off balance the defender creating space on the other side

Expanded Game Players are divided into two teams of four. The field is divided into three equal sized horizontal zones marked off by cones. Each each defends and attacks two goals. Points are awarded for running with the ball from one zone to the next. Players can run with the ball forwards and backwards (towards own goal) into the zones. Make the game competitive by adding a time limit or first team to a set number of points. Game Two teams compete in a 4v4 2 goal game. Players attempt to score by dribbling through the opponents two goals (3 points ) or bytapping the ball into the goal (1 point ). Bonus points can be awarded by the coach for any player demonstrating good dribbling techniques or making smart soccer decisions.
