passing warm-up Set up: 2 cones 1 yd. apart. one player on either side of gate. - A plays B, shuffles outside of cones - B takes 1st touch outside of cones, returns ball to A with 2nd touch - A takes first touch back inside cones, plays back to B through gate. -Coach specifies which part of foot should be used for 1st touch (inside/outside) Coaching Pts: -1st touch out from feet -move feet to position body correctly to allow good 1st touch -firm pass to proper foot Make a game of it: - Challenge players to get as many passes as possible through the gate in 45 sec or minute. Please should each have an opportunity to be the player passing through the gate - Have players play the same game but need to use the outside of foot to slide ball to the side before passing to teammate.

passing triangle w/give and go Set up: passing triangle 10 yds/side Start with regular passing triangle and quickly progress to give and go around corners (give go illustrated above) Regular Passing Triangle - players pass around triangle receiving and passing ball with right or left foot. Working to move the ball around the triangle as quickly and efficiently and possible Coaching Pts: regular triangle - Firm pass to far foot - 1st touch with open hips around corner out from feet to prepare to pass give and go triangle --always pass to foot farthest from defender (cone) --body position Make a game of it: - challenge players to move the ball around the triangle starting at player "A" and ending at player "A" as many times as possible. This should be done to the left and right, a minimum of 3 times each side for 1 minute or 90 seconds each time.

4v4 keepaway w/bumpers Set up: - 4v4 keepaway in a 25x25 box - score points by keeping possession and getting the ball to all 4 bumpers or getting 8 passes. (adjust number of passes to create success for players if 4 bumpers or 8 passes is too much for level of players) - Coach can limit touches to 2 or 3 Coaching pts: - body position - weight of pass - pass to proper foot
