WHYFC U5&6 Rec Practice Session Week 4 - Balance Category: Technical: Ball Control Difficulty: Beginner

Screen 1 (10 mins) Title: Sixers - Focus on inside / outside Descriptions: Players start to work on inside and outside of the foot using balance and coordination. Coach creates challenges for the players to keep up their skills. For example coach says inside, outside, inside... outside, outside, inside...inside, inside, outside. Progression: 1) Try hopping on standing foot; 2) Add directions; 3) Count touches Coaching Points: 1) Know the difference between inside / outside; 2) Balance with the ball; 3) Coordination between both feet.

Screen 2 (10 mins) Title: Doctor, Doctor Description: Players are dribbling inside the grid trying to stay away from the "germs" (players wearing green pennies) . If a germ touches their ball the players must quickly find a "Doctor" (coach) who can cure them with a dose of skills (sixers components). Progression: 1) Add germs; 2) Doctors move around; 3) Change the dosing methods Coaching Points: 1) Find open space; 2) Keep ball close; 3) Always see where the pressure is coming from

Screen 3 (10 mins) Title: Clean the yard Description: Players take their ball into the other team's yard and quickly come back on their side to clean more trash. The team that has the cleanest yard at end of time wins the game. Players have to dribble their ball and leave it inside the yard. Progression: 1) Players can pass their ball across; 2) Coach can add balls or sweep up balls at any time; 3) Players can tag a player inside the zone to freeze them Coaching Points: 1) Changing speeds with the ball; 2) Changing directions with the ball; 3) Finding open space
