St. James’ Vestry Debbie Hanna
Background I was born in Louisville, KY to Bill and Ruth Palmer. I was baptized as an infant at Christ Church Cathedral where we attended church. My uncle was even the sexton there. We left Christ Church to attend a more local church on Westport Road. As a teen, I really wasn’t interested in going to church, so our family just stopped attending. After my high school graduation, we moved to LaGrange and just loved the peaceful feeling of living on 5 acres. I was not even thinking of returning to church until I had my children and realized something was lacking in my life. February 2001 was our first visit to St. James’. Since that day, we have walked through the beautiful red doors every Sunday and many days during the week. This church has been a blessing to my wonderful boys and me. I have met so many wonderful people there that I call my dear friends. I am finally ready to take on a new challenge, serving on the Vestry. My youngest son, William, is a senior and will be leaving for Marine boot camp June 18, 2018. I look forward to working joyously with every St. James’ member.
