Step outside St Lawrence House
The gardens with fine views and extensive outbuildings The house commands a fine outlook over adjacent open fields towards the Severn, including both bridges, across to Somerset and downstream towards Penarth. The main gardens are laid mainly to lawn with shrub borders and several mature trees. The drive leads into the rear of the house, a partly walled courtyard and several very useful outbuildings. These provide secure storage and/or garaging for several vehicles and would be ideal for a vintage car collection. The block of five 1 bedroom letting units very valuable ancillary income On the opposite side of the courtyard is an old building converted to five one-bedroom letting units. All are currently let on ASSURED SHORTHOLD TENANCIES and produce a valuable ancillary income.
Historical note The house was built in the late Eighteenth Century by Thomas Fydell, a Chepstow merchant, probably when he was Sherriff in 1772, and thought to be on the site of an earlier building. The site had been noted as a prominent pilots mark for ships on the Severn as early as the Seventeenth Century. Directions From Larkfield Roundabout take the A466, St Lawrence Road, towards Chepstow Racecourse. Take the first turning left onto Mounton Road and the property is a little way down on the left hand side.
