Mrs. N. Duggan

Mrs Duggan Weekly Message Dear Parents and Carers, Christmas is coming and we have lots of activities, Christmas plays and concerts to look forward to. However, it is important that we remember and talk to our children about the season of Advent and the true meaning of Christmas. The challenge we face is that the season itself is such a busy one. It is so easy to get caught up in and taken over by all that needs to be done. We get our heads down and adopt a something of a ‘don’t interrupt me’ attitude as we move through this especially fast and frenetic time of the year. Advent is a season of love, hope and joy, and full of promise. Let us use this special time to reflect on those less fortunate than ourselves, and of the promise fulfilled in the coming of Christ.

“The Son of God…worked with human hands; he thought with a human mind. He acted with a human will, and with a human heart he loved. Born of the Virgin Mary, he has been truly made one of us, like to us in all things except sin’ (Gaudium et Spes 22.)

Reflection

Sunday is the first Sunday of Advent

We remember with joy at this time the birth of your only son, Jesus. While we celebrate with excitement the Christmas season, Let us never forget Mary and Joseph’s journey and their celebration of new life. Every year let us share in the wonder of the shepherds and Wise Men as they knelt before the new baby born to be the light of the world. Let that light shine forever and let us be guided by it and follow in Jesus’ footsteps.
