SRFC Mini Rugby Code of Conduct & NOTES FOR PARENTS / GUARDIANS Mini and Youth rugby is operated on a voluntary basis and is completely dependent on the good will and dedication of the members and parents who help out with coaching, team management, refereeing and transport. All coaches, juvenile members and parents/guardians are expected to abide by the code of conduct as listed below
1. For Everyone No abusive language or behavior towards; Stillorgan players, Opposition players, Spectators or coaches or Referees, Think about where you park - do not obstruct driveways and areas provided for emergency vehicles
Never ridicule or criticize players at any time Respect the authority of officials during training and games Never question, discuss or confront officials at training or games Agree a suitable time to discuss any grievance you have with officials
2. For Players Try your best Always be positive Do what your coaches tell you Respect your team-mates - no bullying - no teasing no name calling - no bad language Behave - Bad behaviour is not allowed
Make sure you have the correct gear Never leave the pitch without telling your coach Never ever leave the club/grounds without an adult you trust Most of all - HAVE FUN!!
3. For Parents/Guardians Ensure children are on time for training/ games Ensure children have the proper gear and are suitably attired for the weather conditions Children must not be left as your presence maybe required Ensure your child understands the player code Positive encouragement only at all times Disruptive behavior spoils the experience for everyone and cannot be tolerated - persistent
disruption will lead to exclusion from the session / team Ensure children never leave the pitch/club without the coaches’ permission Ensure you notify the Club of any medical condition which could affect the safety of your child or others, or could impact on the ability of your child and/or others to participate
4. For the Coaches Respect the dignity, self-esteem and rights of all the children Be punctual and organized for training/games All children must be involved in training and games Positive encouragement only at all times Clear communication of fixtures to children/parents Bring any matters of concern quickly to the attention of Parents/Guardians

Parents/ Guardian Charter Stillorgan RFC - commits to providing you with:
Facilities where your children can play rugby. Coaching staff to help improve the player’s ability. A safe environment for your children. Supervised training on Sunday mornings from 10am – 11am for under 7’s (born 2011), U8’s, U9’s, U10’s & U11’s. Supervised matches both home and away as and when they occur. Any issues with your children will be raised immediately with you in order that they may be dealt with in a timely and appropriate manner. All personnel working with the mini’s section are approved by the executive committee and subject to Garda vetting in accordance with child welfare requirements. Stillorgan RFC - expects the following from Parents/Guardians:
You will introduce yourself to the coaches and management of your children’s’ teams. You will maintain close contact with the coaches and management of those teams in relation to training and matches. On training days, you will ensure your children are at the club at 09.50am for a prompt 10am start for training or at a time arranged by SMS/TEXT in advance of match days etc. You will collect, or arrange for the collection of your children from the club at 11am on training days or at a time arranged with the coaches on match days. You will ensure that the players are kitted out in clean shirt, shorts, socks and boots with football/ rugby boots and have a gum shield You will ensure that the players have bottled water to stay hydrated during training and matches. On cold days it is essential that players turn up properly kitted out with tracksuit bottoms and a warm waterproof training top. On match days and during training sessions it’s possible for players that there may be inactivity (subs etc.) for long periods and they must be properly attired. You are encouraged to attend some match days to support and encourage your children and get to know other parents and members of Stillorgan RFC. Please be available to travel to at least 3 away matches in the season to provide transport for other children. This can be agreed in advance with the coaches for your team. You will raise any concerns or issues you have immediately with the club so that they can be dealt with in a timely and appropriate manner. · You will adhere to the Stillorgan RFC Code of Behaviour 4
