SVP Seattle Program Associate, Community Investment

Mission & Vision SVP Seattle cultivates effective philanthropists and strengthens organizations driving community change – building powerful relationships that advance shared community goals. We envision a community in which, regardless of income or race, all children receive an excellent education and all people live and work in a healthy environment. We amplify the impact of those out to do good in three distinct ways:   

Connect and engage individuals, helping them make the greatest impact with their time and philanthropic giving. Fund and strengthen nonprofits, helping them take their vital work for kids and the environment to the next level. Invest in collaborative solutions, so those with a common cause can align their efforts and go farther, together.

Organizational Culture & Background SVP is an international network of 38 SVP affiliates with 3,000+ individuals who pool expertise and resources to make a collective impact that far exceeds what each of us can do individually. At its core, SVP is a network of engaged donors that bring together nonprofits and philanthropists to learn from each other and build capacity for positive community impact. SVP partners make hands-on contributions to nonprofits through strategic volunteering, making grant decisions through a committee process, and supporting the internal work of SVP through working groups. In Seattle, our leveraged approach allows us to provide larger, longer term grants to nonprofits in the areas of Kindergarten Readiness, K-12 education, and the environment. SVP Seattle staff is made up of a small tight-knit team driven by a shared passion for achieving our mission and vision. We operate in an entrepreneurial culture which requires individuals to excel in a highly adaptive, collaborative, and volunteer-driven environment – demonstrating a willingness to “roll up his/her sleeves” and perform a variety of strategic and administrative functions. We hire smart, strategic and confident individuals who value and embrace internal and external collaboration, humility, continual learning and improvement. We seek individuals who can build a high level of trust, credibility and partnership with staff, donors, and nonprofit leaders.
