Sunday School This Sunday, the children of St. Stephen's will hear the story of Christ manifesting his glory on the mountaintop. Jesus opens the eyes of his disciples to show them who he is, in fact, and always was. The children will paste glitter on a drawing of Jesus symbolizing the mystery of the word made flesh and showing the new ability of the disciples to see Jesus Christ.
Pancake Sunday
Join us in Stephen’s Hall this Sunday following the 11am service for a special Pancake Lunch ahead of our Lenten services beginning Ash Wednesday!
Volunteer Needed
Toward the end of the 11am service, “Alleluia” is bid farewell as we make the transition to Lent. The children will display their Alleluia Banner, constructed last Sunday, and “bury” it underneath the altar, symbolizing a verbal fast which has the effect of

Black History Month Spotlight During this Black History Month, St. Stephen’s will use its Facebook and Instagram pages to highlight the service of past lay and ordained African American leaders of our congregation. We will also include an insert in each service bulletin.
Michael Smith
Long-time Parishioner, Michael Smith passed away on January 15, 2018. A Celebration of Life will be held this Saturday, February 10 at 10am at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home on James Island (347 Folly Road). Click HERE to see Michael's obituary. of the International African American Museum! To honor the black history of our congregation, St. Stephen’s will be receiving contributions, during Black History Month (February), to enable us to become a Charter Member of the International African American Museum set to open in 2020. Checks should be written to St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, with “African American Museum” in the memo line. Gifts can also be made online by clicking HERE. Please specify with your online donation what it is for. On March 11, Michael Moore, the President and CEO of the Museum will visit us to receive St. Stephens’ gift and speak to us, following our 11am service, about the mission of the Museum. children's and youth programming, along with many others. Our next planning meeting for the annual Emma Watson Memorial Barbecue is on Monday, February 12 at 6:30pm in Stephens Hall. We will need not only people to head up committees but also volunteers. Please consider attending this meeting and assisting with this exciting and important event.

2018 Tea Time 2018 Tea Time has officially kicked off and the Tea Time calendar is posted in Stephen’s Hall. We are seeking hosts/hostesses to sign up! “Simple” Tea Times are encouraged this year in order to place emphasis on our fellowship rather than an abundance of food. With Lent
