Now that it’s hot outside, I am back to more time in my sewing studio. Jordan’s wife, Brittany is spending time in there with me learning how to sew. She will be staying with us while Jordan is on his deployment to Japan. She has been cleaning houses for several years in California, and is looking for a few jobs here during her 10 month stay with us. If you are in need of a break - you can leave a message for her here at the shop. Brianna has started her basic sewing classes for those of you that would like to wear something that actually fits as if it were made for you! She is starting with simple pants. These can be pajamas, sweats or summer capris. I added one last baby basics class for those of you that have not been able to get in because of overfilling. We will cover diapers, diaper covers, burp cloths, receiving blankets and a quick quilt project… all in 2 hours! This Friday is your last chance. We also have two all day quilt classes, one is the TriDazzle Quilt in a Day. Very simple - stop in and see our fabulous flannel sample! The second is a repeat of Urban Chain, the incredibly popular simple curve class that was filled in a matter of days back in June… now’s your opportunity to make this stunning quilt!! So, it’s too hot to be outside unless you are by the water - so come down and hang out with us. We’ll teach you something new. And of course, as always, we have new fabric and the newest notions arriving daily! Cindi

Basic Class Supplies: When you sign up for a class with us, you will receive a supply list. This will cover fabric needs, any precutting that may be necessary, and any helpful tools you’ll want to bring. In addition to the above, you’ll always want to have a machine you are familiar with that is in good working condition. We have two loaners available at the shop that can be rented for $5/day if necessary. All class supplies can be found on the website. If you have questions about the specifics of a certain class, you can call the shop and ask for Cindi, or e-mail me directly at [email protected]. As a reminder, children are never allowed in the classroom. There are too many dangers for little ones.
Current Clubs: The series are an incredible amount of fun with great benefits: a common group of friends that you get to know and look forward to seeing each month; a small investment of time (only two hours per month); new ideas, techniques and tools and great door prizes. We have a varied mixture of “clubs” and “BOM’s” (block-of-the-months). Blockwatchers (meets the third Wednesday of the month from 6pm - 8pm) (Cost: $40/series) (Duration: 6 months) We will be working on a sampler featuring 12 different blocks with a fun star sash. We are on class 5 of 6. Watch for new series starting soon. Jo’s Club (meets once a month on the first Wednesday) (Cost: $30) (Duration: 4 months) This series began in May. We work on small projects, focusing on hand work and the joy of quilting. We make wallhangings, small quilts, and “needful things”. Class does not require a sewing machine. Fee includes all color patterns, instruction, demonstrations and door prizes. New series will begin in September. Monday’s Cat: Ongoing BOM. August is class 4 of 12.

Quick one day Classes: We also have single all-day classes every month for those that want to complete a quick project without further commitment. All of our classes are very reasonable priced and easy enough for the beginner, but interesting enough for the experienced. We have quite a variety, this months available classes are featured below: TriDazzle Quilt in a Day!!i Brianna will teach this very easy quilt that will be quick and fun to make. You will learn an easy quarter square block, as well as great trimming and sashing techniques. No tools required. Pattern and lunch provided. $28 Urban Chain: This was a fun class that was overbooked two months ago. We are offering a one-time repeat class, but hurry, class is limited to 10 participants. Sign up early before all of the spots are taken again!! This is a great technique with lots of pattern support. Class is $28, includes lunch. Sewing Basics: Pajama/Sweat Pants!! Join Brianna as she teaches basic sewing skills and tricks to complete clothing that actually fits!! She will have a new class every month, always with new techniques, tips and tricks. This month: pants!! Quick and easy for lounging, sleeping or working out. Make cotton Capri drawstring or flannel elastic waistband. Two hours is enough time to leave with your pants done - and an individual pattern to make more!!! Such a great opportunity to see what Brianna learned at the AI!!! Baby Basics: Cloth diapers are all the rage for our modern mothers. Come and make one with us using PUL, diaper flannel and snaps. Easy enough for the busy mom that has never sewn. Fast enough for Grandma to be a star!! Complete project kit and class for only $18. Cindi will be teaching this class - added by popular demand as one final opportunity. She is going to add patterns and tips for a quick receiving blanket, burp cloth and crib sheet. Snap Sack This is a really fun class. It is $16 for the class AND the complete kit. We make small tablerunners/wallhangings appropriate for the season. Great for home décor or gift giving. You bring your machine and basic supplies. Millie always brings the freshly baked cookies! You will leave with a fully completed project! Sign up is required as class size is limited to 12. Pincushion Club One of Cindi’s favorite classes - who doesn’t love a great pincushion!! We have made several cute projects, including a cat, a dog, a flower, a hedgehog and there are still more DARLING projects to come but it is always a mystery until class! Class is only $5 which includes complete instruction and a $5 voucher toward the purchase of your kit, which is usually $6.99. Sign up required. Class size limited to 14. Choose this August class, or come every month! This foot was made for sewing!! Featured Foot: Rolled Hem Foot!! Wednesday, August 28th 10am - 12pm We all have this foot - come in and learn how to use it properly for great finishes on napkins, sheets, clothing and more. Long Arm Custom Quilting We no longer have a long arm available for rent, but several Innova owners in our area do. We have a list for Ephrata and our surrounding area. Call or e-mail to inquire. However, we still quilt professionally. Our turn around time is generally under two weeks, and as always, all work is guaranteed and completed by award winning quilters. Prices range from .015/sq inch to .03/sq inch. Designs range from all over, to heirloom quilting. You can pick up an information sheet at the shop, call, or just bring your quilt in and we will discuss the quilting options with you. Our prices are very reasonable, all work is custom work, hand guided and stitch regulated. Also, we have a wide selection of 112” backings in stock ranging in price from $8.99 to $14.99/yd, and we always have several battings in stock, including bamboo, cotton, wool and polyester.
