Defibrillator It is a shocking statistic that Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) kills over 2000 people a week in the UK alone. Medical experts believe many of these lives could be saved if an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) is used within minutes of a collapse. However, there is currently no national system in place in the UK to ensure AEDs are present and in working order in schools. We have collaborated with the charity, “Hand on Heart” and we now have our own defibrillator. It is in our First Aid area close to the main Reception. In case of an emergency, please come to this area. Six members of staff have completed the necessary training and an assembly is planned to explain the purpose of the defibrillator to the children.
Foodbank vouchers We are now able to distribute Foodbank vouchers to any families that are in need of an emergency food parcel. If at any time you feel that this would benefit your family, please speak to myself or Mrs Kershaw and we will give you a food voucher. You would then need to present the food voucher at the Sale west Community Centre on a Tuesday between 11am and 1pm and you will be given the food parcel.
Have you got any old football boots or kit? Simon Youd is collecting any old football boots for children in the Nairobi slums. Simon visited these children last year and is passionate about supporting them as much as possible. If your child has any boots they have grown out of, or unused kit, please send them into school and we will pass them onto Simon. Thank you. Good luck to Year 5 this week at Robinwood! We will be tweeting your adventures @firsprimarysale Thank you for your on-going support. If you have any queries or wish to discuss any school matters, I am available before and after- school most days.
