MAT Meeting Reminder Welcome back to school - we hope half term was enjoyable! This term is going to be short but as always, there is lots happening. Very importantly, next week we have our meeting for parents where Mr Spry will explain more about our proposed conversion to a Multi-Academy Trust. It would be great to see as many parents there as possible—so please do come especially if you have any questions about what the future holds for Salisbury Road Primary.

TESCOS BAGS OF HELP You will have received an important letter this week telling you all about the Tesco Bags of Help initiative. Our school has been shortlisted for funding to develop our outdoor environment. The amount we are allocated ultimately depends on how many votes we get from Tesco shoppers in our local area. Please help us all you can by spreading this fantastic news and encouraging your friends and family to vote for us if they shop at Tesco between the 26th February and the 6th March.

PLEASE VOTE FOR SALISBURY ROAD PRIMARY

Don’t forget World Book day next Thursday—3rd March. You can dress up that day as your favourite character from a book. We can’t wait to see your costumes.

Top Table

Our Wonderful New Mural Over half term, our dining hall has had a makeover and some colourful new inhabitants have taken residence thanks to one of our Year 2 mums Kate Crawfurd. Kate designed and painted a gorgeous water scene with flamingos and a cheeky frog nesting among lily pads and ferns. Thank you so much to Katherine and to Mrs White who arranged this for school. Thanks for giving up your free time over half term and for livening up our lunch hall. WE LOVE IT! Many thanks to B&Q who also provided materials for free.

Year Six Cathy Cassidy On Friday 5th February, Year 6 joined pupils from across Plymouth in the Guildhall to listen to a wonderful talk by the author, Cathy Cassidy. She read them part of her book, played a quiz with everyone and even signed copies of her books for the children. An excellent time was had by all! Year 6 are now reading lots of Cathy Cassidy books in school and at home.
