Safeguarding The safety and wellbeing of all children is of the highest priority for the staff and governors at Thrybergh Primary School. As the designated governor for safeguarding I have been working alongside senior leaders at the school to ensure that the policies, procedures and systems for the protection of children are in place, and adhered to, by all who work, visit or volunteer at the school. For your information the safeguarding and child protection policy can be accessed via the school website. If you have an issue or concern regarding the safety or welfare of a child please do not hesitate to inform a member of the school staff or you can contact me directly via the school office. Julie Turner (Designated Governor for Safeguarding)
Hello and welcome to families old and new after what has been a glorious summer! I am really looking forward to my new job here as Head of School at Thrybergh Primary, as I have seen and heard so many wonderful things about the children and the community. In the past I have worked in Dewsbury, Huddersfield, Hackney and Barnsley so please bear with me whilst I get to know Rotherham a little better! I live in Huddersfield and have two children, Stanley, 14 years old and Esmé who is 10 years old. As a mum, I fully understand just how important it is for children to feel safe, happy and settled in school and I promise, with the help of all the staff, to do my very best to make sure your children enjoy coming to school each and every day. I would like to welcome Mr Josh Bird, (Class 3) teacher, Miss Louise Whitehouse (Class 5) and Miss Faith Parkin (Class 1) to Thrybergh Primary. I’m sure they will have a wonderful time working with your children and will be made to feel more than welcome. I know the teachers have been planning some really exciting work during the holidays and everyone is raring to get started. Don’t forget you are invited to the ‘Special Mentions’ assembly every Friday at 2.20pm to celebrate the work the children have been doing. Please come and see me in the playground before school for a chat or a quick ‘hello’, or alternatively contact the office if you want to see me during the day. I look forward to meeting you all in what I hope is going to be a long and happy partnership. Mrs Rachel Harrison Please remember to make sure that all the children’s lovely new uniform is clearly named. Children do lose things, but it’s more likely to be found and returned if it has a name inside. Lost property from last year will be in the hall after school on Wednesday 2nd September for you to claim. Anything left will be taken to be recycled on Thursday. Thanks. you.
