1 Let’s talk about C-J-P. 10 Walk the walk. Make your own gift! Share your decision-making process with donors, and why you increased your gift.

Many in our community don’t realize how CJP makes a difference in their lives – supporting synagogues, education, social service agencies and hundreds of programs right here in Greater Boston. Tell them!

2 Make ’em proud. Donors want to feel good about their philanthropy! Share impact stories and CJP’s latest work to inspire them and make them proud to support CJP.

9 Have your people call our people. CJP staff want to meet your friends, neighbors, business associates, family… you name it. From corporate sponsorships and leadership roles to investment opportunities and volunteer work, people are our greatest asset.

golden.

Donors need time to think. Start now so you can get them from a ‘maybe’ to a ‘yes.’

Ugh… the dreaded silence when you ask a donor to make a gift. Don’t fill the silence! Wait for a response and give him/her a chance to think.

5 Get some face time.

7 There’s only one way — and it’s up. Just as critical as securing a gift, is securing an increase. As community needs continue to grow, so does the cost of doing business. Gift increases offset those costs and help us make the biggest possible difference.

Quick question – do YOU know why you support CJP? Know your own story – why you give and why it’s important. Your passion will build the case for others to give. Use our guide to build your story on cjp.org/campaigntools.

6 Don’t be a stranger. Invite donors to CJP events, forward them impact stories from CJP News, connect them to a CJP professional or suggest a networking group from cjp.org/joinagroup.

Ask if you can hand-deliver information on this year’s campaign. For materials, please contact a CJP development officer.
