CAMP DIRECTOR

CAMP INFORMATION

Head Coach Stan Gouard has lifted UIndy men’s basketball back to national prominence in his six seasons as head coach. With that success has come top 25 rankings, NCAA Tournament appearances, and All-America honors. The Greyhounds have reached the NCAA Tournament four seasons in a row and climbed to No. 4 in the country during the 2013-14 season. UIndy won its most games in 50 years last season, finishing 24–5 to earn a program-first fourth straight NCAA Division II Tounament berth. The Greyhounds were ranked in the top 25 for 13 consecutive weeks, culimating in a No. 12 ranking in the final NABC poll. The icing on the cake came in an 80-75 win versus arch-rival Bellarmine in the first round of the NCAA Tourney, good for the team’s second NCAA win in the last three seasons. Reece Cheatham and Joe Lawson were named to the All-GLVC First Team; Tryae Robinson was honored on the second team; while Robinson and Brennan McElroy were named to the league’s All-Defensive Team. The Hounds reached 20 wins for the second year in a row, and the NCAA Tournament for the third year in a row in 2012-13. The program was ranked for 10 consecutive weeks in the NABC Division II Top 25, including rising to No. 5 in the country in January, the highest ranking for UIndy since Feb. 1997. Gouard led the Greyhounds in the rankings for 16 weeks during his tenure, which is impressive considering UIndy had only been ranked 18 times in school history. Gouard became the 12th head coach in UIndy history when he took the reigns April 8, 2008. A former University of Southern Indiana standout, Gouard returned to the UIndy Greyhounds after a three-year stint as an assistant coach at Indiana State University. He served in that capacity for the Greyhounds from 2002-05. As a player, Gouard led Southern Indiana to its first national championship. Gouard also led the Eagles to two GLVC championships and was twice named the NABC Division II National Player of the Year and the CBS/Chevrolet MVP of the National Championship game in 1994. Indiana Hall of Fame in 2007.
