The Unionville Community Recreation Association (URA) is a 501c non‐ profit organization (#23-7375176) dedicated to improving the quality of life for area youths by effectively managing and enhancing recreation programs and facilities. Benefits of participation in URA programs include increased socialization and community awareness, development of new athletic, teamwork and leisure skills, increased physical and emotional well being, and increased self esteem, all in a fun, safe and structured recreation environment. URA touches families primarily residing in the Unionville Chadds Ford School district (Chadds Ford, Newlin, Pennsbury, Pocopson, Birmingham, East Marlborough and West Marlborough townships as well as outlying areas including West Chester and Kennett). While registration fees are charged for our programs, they are structured to cover the operating costs for that individual program. Raising additional funds separate from registration fees to support URA is not an option! Fundraising accounts for a majority of the revenue needed to pay for equipment, field maintenance, improvements, and operating costs. Fundraising begins with every individual involved in URA. The league is operated solely by volunteers, most often the parents of the participants. The league must rely on parental and community support to help raise funds necessary to stay in operation.
