PREPARING FOR THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES & 8TH DAY FESTIVALS The Spring Festivals have come and gone. They have been spiritually rich and meaningful and we now prepare to observe the fall festivals of Trumpets, Atonement, Tabernacles and the 8th Day. A major aspect of observing these spiritual festivals is by anticipation, preparation and collective cooperation in honoring God and serving one another. That’s what love is all about. Please begin now to consider cooperating by making sure you have registered for the Feast of Tabernacles at http://feast.ucg.org. If there is a potential need for financial assistance to observe the Oceanside feast site—contact our festival advisor, Mr. Larry Sharp, now not later. Now is also the time to consider sharing a portion of your festival tithe (festival fund) to help create a meaningful and spiritually memorable feast for all. I realize all of us are beginning to do a lot of planning now to enjoy special things at the Feast of Tabernacles, but begin now to also budget for time to serve in balance at the feast whether in ushering, security, parking, choir, instrumental ensembles, information tables or serving at banquets or other church sponsored events. Now is the time to prayerfully ask God to help you to be His servant during the upcoming feast by budgeting time to develop rich and meaningful relationships with fellow members. Yes, now is the time!

We are donating assistance along with UCG-Las Vegas and UCGBakersfield to help our international members at Mangochion on Lake Malawi (150) people in Malawi and our Zambian feast sites at Lusake, Kitwe and Isoka (280 people). These funds would supplement food costs (add meat for the feast!) and thus allowing our fellow member to experience a joyful Feast.

WHEN IS THE LAST TIME YOU LOOKED UP? We live in a time and manner in which far too often we are staring at our television, our smart phone, a rear view mirror on our automobile or the mirror on our wall. Far too often we tend to look at what’s in front of us or around us. But the great day comes, when we start looking up and keep our gaze on what God always intended to be His calling card to know He is and will always be and looks down upon us with favor. Perhaps Ralph Waldo Emerson said it best nearly a hundred and fifty years ago when penning, “If the stars should appear one night in a thousand years, how men would believe and adore, and preserve for many generations the remembrance of the city of God which had been shown! But every night come out these envoys of beauty, and light the universe with their admonishing smile” …. Psalms 148:6 (NLT): “Praise Him, sun and moon! Praise Him, all you twinkling stars! Praise Him, skies above! Praise Him, vapors high above the clouds. Let every created thing give praise to the Lord, for He issued His command, and they came into being.” Isaiah 40:26 (NLT): “Look up into the heavens. Who created the stars? He brings them out like an army, one after another, calling each by its name. Because of His great power, and incomparable strength, not one is missing.”
