June 6-8th: Diocesan Convention—in Speculator, NY June 8th, Pentecost: 5 pm service and Potluck with a special guest speaker (NOTE: no 10 am service) June 15th: Martha Ross Small Scholarship Sunday, At the 10 am service. Events and Happenings

Ministries and Church Information St. John’s Easter Egg Hunt: St. John’s Easter Sunday Egg Hunt will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Easter Sunday morning!

Spring Fling - Save the Date! Tickets are available today, before and after the 10am worship service. Also, tickets are available through the church office. What: A fun night of dining followed by dancing to The Sophistacats Where: St. Patrick’s Masonic Lodge, Johnstown, New York When: Appetizers at 6 pm; Buffet catered by Union Hall Inn at 6:30 pm Cost: Only $30 Spring Fling Basket Raffle: The WOSJ are looking for individuals who would be interested in making a basket for the Spring Fling Dinner Dance Raffle, held April 26th. There will be a sign-up sheet in the Hawkins Room and the Narthex along with the contents form for you to list the contents of your basket. We would like the baskets delivered upstairs to the office no later than Friday, April 18th. If you have any questions please contact Barb Cameron or Joanne LaVallee. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the 2014 Summer Youth Mission Trip!

Elizabeth & Eileen’s Closet: will be open, Saturday, April 26th, from 12 am - 2 pm. The dresses are loaned out for $30, with the deposit returned when the dress is returned. Recycle to Benefit St. John’s Youth! C & K Redemption Center will recycle your bottles and cans on ANY DAY OF THE WEEK and the proceeds will benefit our Youth activities, such as the Youth Mission Trip. Just tell them that you want the proceeds to benefit St. John’s Youth! Real New York Maple Syrup is available now for a $10 donation. All proceeds will benefit our Youth Mission Trip to Cairo on July 20 thru 27, 2014. The Maple Syrup was made and donated by The Christensen Family. Additional Youth Fund Raising Events:  May 17: 11 - 3pm: Gloversville Walmart Coin Drop  May 21: 5-9pm: McDonald’s Night  June 7: TBA: Car wash at Browns Ford: Please check with Mother Laurie for details. Outreach Committee: A heartfelt thanks from the Outreach Committee to all who donated to our Easter packages for our college students (see picture), as well as those who donated supplies for The Office of the Aging. All were greatly appreciated! Nancy First Communion Prayers: Please pray for these young people who are beginning preparation for First Communion, which will be celebrated on May 4th, at 10 am. Pray also for their families, and for the challenges that they face as they choose to raise their children in a faith tradition. Communion class will be next held on April 12, 2014. This class will include The Children’s Stations of the Cross.

Our Weekly Bible Studies: Bible studies meet at 10:30 am on Wednesday, and at 7 pm on Thursday evenings. Note: Bible study will meet at 21 North Market, the former Y building. Come in the front door.
