USF Sarasota-Manatee Student Government Association Executive Branch 1/15/2014 C0306
Members in Attendance: Todd Hughes, Christopher Mowry, John Noe, Will Statz, Chad Lockhart Student Services Members in Attendance: Guest(s): Mary Beth Wallace, Manuel Bass, Joel Lengyel. Call to Order: Called to order by Todd Hughes at 4:05pm. Amendments to the Meeting Agenda: Christopher motions to approve. John seconds. Approved via unanimous vote. Amendments to the Meeting Minutes: Will motions to approve. Christopher seconds. Approved via unanimous vote. Guest: Mary Beth congratulates SGA on a good Week of Welcome, there was good feedback. John would like to note C.A.B. did a good job with planning and organizing. Mary Beth notes Dr. Guilford has announced his retirement. He seems to have decided around the holiday break. Dr. Guilford has been in the USF system for around 39 years, 7 of which were at USFSM. Todd notes that SNN 6 will be on campus to conduct interview tomorrow (1/16/2014). Mary Beth notes that the Culinary Innovation Lab is open in Lakewood Ranch. Also, USFSM will now be participating at Lakewood Ranch’s First Friday event on Main Street. Student participation would be greatly appreciated. Manuel notes that Orgsync sliders can be taken for students to check in. SGA should think of some incentives to get students to attend. President and Vice-President Updates: Todd has given three applications to the senate to review for the Vice-President position. May have interviews this Friday (1/17/2014). It is possible that Judicial applications will be ready for interviews be next Friday (1/24/2014). Old Business: Will informs the Board on the Canstruction project. Waiting on an E-mail. Still working on the overall project. Should know all the details by Friday (1/17/2014). New Business: John would like to go over the pay structure before the elections in order to have any changes or corrections ready for review with the incoming administration. Advisor Updates: None for 1/15/2014 Branch Updates: Manuel notes that they are trying to plan another JuSenEx meeting. There will be a Town Hall style meeting next week. Will be getting the word out via E-mail, Facebook, and fliers. Christopher notes the both the Gym and Student Lounge have broken and/or missing items and these need to be fix and/or replaced. Some lounge policies need to be reevaluated. Looking onto getting new equipment for both the Gym and Lounge.
