From Saturday afternoon till Sunday morning we had an event with an intensive focus on love and godly wisdom when it comes to relationships, current or future. It was front-loaded with teaching from a Erik Koliser and Anna May, then in homes our students worked out that application of those teachings from God's Word. Thank you to everyone who hosted kids, led groups, or brought food! If you missed it, we hope to have all the sessions, including breakouts available soon. Pray for our students, they live in a time when there are many confusing messages about relationship and at a time when it is unusually difficult to flee temptation, especially when you carry temptation in your pocket. We have strong students, but they aren't strong enough to succeed on their own. They need parents to model Godly relationships, to get them to where the Word of God is taught, and to help safeguard their minds by making sure there is accountability software on their devises. I was alarmed by how many students with smart phone said they had no accountability. We have to catch up with technology folks!

There is great potential in this generation for the gospel to shine in the contrast between how believers do things and unbelievers. But the world won't see it if there is not contrast. Let's dig into the Word, apply the gospel, and trust that God's Way is better than the world's way.

20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. Ephesians 3:20-21 On Sunday morning we looked at this powerful verse and recognized that God’s ability is greater than our imagination. Not only is God able to do all we ask, but He goes beyond that and is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine! Isn’t it great to know that we serve a God who is not limited by our human minds? I want us to keep this in mind as we start our Imagine: Freedom to Do More stewardship campaign this Sunday. Over the next four weeks we will pray for God to move in our hearts and study about what God’s Word says about our possessions. I am so looking forward to us taking this journey together. Our 2002 building addition cost $3.6 million and over the past 14 years many of you have been faithful to help pay the mortgage on our property. We currently owe $1.6 million and have a monthly payment of $12,187. At our current pace it will take 17 years and $600,000 in interest to pay off our debt. The purpose of our stewardship campaign is to drastically reduce or eliminate the debt owed on the building addition. Doing so will provide the opportunity to expand future outreach and have an increased commitment to missions, evangelism, Hispanic, children and youth ministries. With over 20,000 people in Woodford County who do not attend church on a given Sunday, we need to be relieved of any burdens which might hinder our quest to make Jesus known in Versailles and around the world! In the end, this campaign is not just about dollars. It is about paying our debt so that we can be in a better position to help others see that someone has paid their debt.
