May and June are busy months and we hope our new classes and programs keep you hopping as well. We’re starting a new Block of the Month and introducing another Friday Night sewing opportunity— Block of the Month workshops! We’ve got several new classes, of course, including lots of new bag and tote projects, which we know you like. This is the time of year for lots of celebrating. From Mother’s Day to graduations and weddings, there are lots of times we need a special gift. Aren’t we lucky we’re quilters and sewers? Our gifts are always appreciated and special. Maybe you can use some of our sewing time in the store to be ready for those occasions! We look forward to seeing you in the store often this spring.

Block of the Month Workshops We know how many baggies of monthly kits you have in your sewing stash, so set aside a day or evening (or both!) a month to work on them! The first Friday of the month, we’ll start at noon and welcome anyone who wants to catch up with those projects...or start a new one! We’ll be there to help if you need it, but mostly we want to encourage fun and friendship while we empty those baggies!! We’ll sew into the evening and grab a snack while we’re at it. No cost, but please sign up so we know whom to expect.
Make it and Take It Our monthly quick project classes continue. On May 19th, Eileen Jacob has agreed to teach our pattern, A Little Duffle Do Ya—a wonderful little duffle bag pattern that she has perfected! On June 16, we’ll work on the little pattern designed by Lisa Christensen called Made With Love. It’s fun and easy and you should take it home completed!
Meet The Teachers Friday, May 4 at 9:30 and Saturday, May 5 at 10:00. Come to see new classes and new programs. You’ll receive a 20% discount on class fees that day
Kids Camp Rhonda will be teaching our kids camp this year – June 18th through the 21st. She has come up with a great, simple quilt for the campers to make and they’ll be able to customize theirs with colors and shapes of their choice. Then they’ll make a pillowcase to go with it! The cost of the camp is $150 which includes the fee and ALL fabrics for the quilt and pillowcase.
Vintage Rouge Block of the Month This is a new project designed by Vicki Bellino and Bloom Creek patterns for Marcus Brothers. It’s a six-month program and will cost $34.95 each month. In addition to all the fabrics for the top, and binding, of the quilt, we’ll offer monthly classes to help you with tips for success. There really are a few techniques that are fun but possibly new to you so the classes will be handy. The finished size of the quilt is 78” square. Sign up today!!! First Choice Thursday, May 17, 24, 31 6:00-8:00 Instructor: Pam Fee: $45 This is a great “first choice” for learning many of the basic quilting techniques. Pam will help you start quilting with great success.
Summer Breeze Monday, June 4 9:30-1:30 Instructor: Nancy Fee: $30.00 Not sure of what to do with your collection of jelly rolls? Or want a fast and fun project that uses one jelly roll and only two more fabrics? Well, here it is! This strippy quilt has very simple cutting and simple piecing and sews up in a jiffy. We’re sure you’ll “ breeze” through making this quilt and want to make more!
