Opening Kick Gettysburg plays its home opener this evening as it takes on non-conference foe Stevenson University. The Bullets are looking to capture their home opener for the second year in a row. The Series Stevenson won the only previous meeting between the two teams, capturing a 3-1 decision in 2010. Opening Weekend The Bullets opened the season on a high note, notching a pair of victories to capture the Salisbury Elmer Lord Memorial Tournament. Gettysburg started with a 2-1 win over St. Mary's (Md.), with senior Patrick Santini scoring the go-ahead goal in the 52nd minute on an assist from classmate Lucas Weissman. Santini also assisted on the team's first goal, which was scored by sophomore defender Ezekiel Omosanya. Sophomore Thomas Keane made a pair of saves to earn the victory in goal for the Bullets. Then in a rain-soaked matchup with Salisbury, Santini drilled in a penalty kick in the 109th minute to hand the Orange and Blue a 1-0 double-overtime win. Senior Max Karen made two saves to pick up his first career shutout. Sophomore midfielder Jimmy Evangelos was selected as the tournament MVP, and Santini would earn Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors. Last Meeting with Stevenson The Mustangs earned a 3-1 win over Gettysburg in Owings Mills on Sept. 11, 2010. Stevenson scored twice over the opening 49 minutes before Tyler Shaffer '14 put Gettysburg on the scoreboard in the 60th minute with his first career goal. However, the Mustangs tacked on an insurance tally in the 71st minute to put the match away. Ryan Flannelly made three saves for Stevenson, which overcame a 9-6 shot deficit. Last Season Gettysburg is coming off a season in which it posted a 9-4-3 record and was in contention for a Centennial Conference playoff berth up until the final game of the

season. The Bullets, who finished the year 4-3-2 in conference play, were ranked in all nine National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division III Mid-Atlantic Region polls, topping out at No. 6 and finishing at No. 9. Home Cooking Last season the Bullets put together their first undefeated home record since 1999, finishing 5-0-3. Gettysburg has now posted a nine-match unbeaten streak here at Clark Field, dating back to the final home match of the 2015 season. Postseason Accolades Gettysburg was well-represented with postseason awards last season, earning six All-Centennial Conference selections and a pair of NSCAA Division III All-Mid-Atlantic Region citations. Forward Henry Smith '17, who led the team with 11 goals and five assists, captured second-team allregion and first-team all-conference honors while center back Ezekiel Omosanya '20 landed third-team all-region and first-team all-conference recognition. Four additional Bullets received All-CC honorable mention: midfielder KJ DePontes '17 (two goals, three assists), forward Patrick Santini '18 (seven goals, five assists), midfielder Jimmy Evangelos '20, and goalie Thomas Keane '20 (1.26 GAA, .750 save percentage). Scouting Stevenson  Stevenson is off to a 1-1 start after splitting a pair of matches last weekend. The Mustangs opened the year with a 2-1 victory over Washington College last Friday, with junior Iliyas Mirza netting the game-winning goal in the 73rd minute and senior Jake Brown making seven saves. Then on Sunday, Hampden-Sydney clipped the Mustangs 3-2 in double overtime.  Four different Mustangs have accounted for the team's four goals thus far. Brown has posted a 1.86 goals-against average and a .750 save percentage.  Mirza led the team in scoring last season with four goals while junior Kevin Benitez added three goals and one assist.
