MATCH NOTES

Opening Kick The Bullets close out the regular season as they take on the Ursinus College Bears in a Centennial Conference tilt this afternoon. Senior Day Today's game marks the final regular-season home appearance for Gettysburg's 10 seniors, who will be honored in a ceremony prior to the start of today's match. Playoff Picture Gettysburg has clinched its first Centennial Conference playoff berth since 2010 and has earned a first-round bye. Heading into Friday night, the Bullets needed a Johns Hopkins loss to Dickinson, an F&M loss or tie versus McDaniel, and a victory this afternoon to clinch the No. 1 seed. The Series Gettysburg holds a 28-8-2 lead over Ursinus in the all-time series that stretches all the way back to 1931. The Bullets have won the last three and eight of the last 10 match-ups. Last Time Out Catholic University rallied from a late 2-1 deficit and the host Cardinals edged the Bullets 3-2 in overtime this past Tuesday. Sophomore Precious Ozoh scored to put Gettysburg up 2-1 with 22:47 left in regulation, but Catholic tied it in the 85th minute before netting the game-winner 1:18 into the extra session. Senior Patrick Santini also scored for the Bullets, who held a 17-14 shot advantage. Last Meeting Ursinus Henry Smith '17 scored off a penalty kick in the 51st minute and the Bullets topped Ursinus 1-0 in Collegeville last season. Thomas Keane made five of his six saves in the second half to earn the shutout for Gettysburg.

Ticklin' the Twine Senior Patrick Santini has paced the Bullets with a tremendous offensive season this year. He has racked up a Centennial Conference-leading 19 goals, which ranks third in school history. He currently ranks fourth in Division III in both goals per game (1.19), and he is tied for the Division III lead with eight game-winning goals. Santini has been named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week four times this season. As a team, Gettysburg ranks third in the conference in goals per game (2.00). Getting Defensive The Bullets have enjoyed a solid defensive campaign this year and enter tonight's contest ranked second in the Centennial Conference in goals-against average (0.92). Gettysburg has yielded just 15 goals this season and have posted seven shutouts, the most since the 2007 team also notched seven clean sheets. In the Rankings In the most recent Division III Mid-Atlantic Region rankings, the Bullets were ranked No. 3 by the NCAA and No. 6 by the United Soccer Coaches (USC). Gettysburg has appeared in all seven USC regional rankings this year, and has also been ranked in the D3soccer. com Top-25 on five occasions, topping out at No. 20. Scouting the Bears  Ursinus enters today's game looking to snap a threegame losing streak and a 12-match winless streak, with the Bears' last win coming back on Sept. 9.  Junior Derek Rudy has led the Ursinus offense with two goals while junior Brandon Lillian has played the majority of the minutes in goal and has been the goalie of record in 10 matches, including both of the team's victories. Freshman Matthew Kenwood has also been the goalie of record in four contests.
