WELCOME TO CAMP CROSS! A ministry of The Episcopal Diocese of Spokane

Camp Cross is a ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of Spokane. We are committed to practicing an amazing outdoor formation ministry that invites all guests to grow in union with God in Christ. Our mission is to give our guests a space to build relationships, learn a life of prayer, and create a life of service in Christ’s name. We seek staff members who can help us live into this mission. Camp Cross has been located on Loff’s Bay on Coeur d’Alene Lake since 1923. It serves over a thousand guests each summer. Our primary means of transport is by boat. Because of our lakeside facility, comfort with boating and swimming is an important factor for staff and volunteers. Our staff is responsible for the overall wellness of the facilities and its guests. This responsibility includes program development, administration, teamwork, and care for the grounds and facilities including cleaning and maintenance. All staff are called to treat all guests, fellow staff and volunteers with the utmost generosity and respect. Furthermore, all staff and volunteers are expected to adhere to the policies and standards of Camp Cross. We expect that staff will practice healthy self-care: bodily, emotionally and spiritually. Serving at Camp Cross can be physically and emotionally challenging. Staff must prepare to be moving constantly for long hours and working in close

proximity with each other for 10 weeks. Staff should be physically prepared to traverse a rugged and hilly environment, and to lift up to 50 lbs. All staff should strive to be open, honest, and willing to listen and evolve, so that we may work through interpersonal issues with charity. The staff will carry out Camp Cross' mission as it is founded in the Episcopal traditions of the Christian faith. While regular Christian practice is very highly desired for eligible staff, it is not required. That said, we do expect that all staff and volunteers demonstrate enthusiasm for the Episcopal Church, our worship practices and our expression of the Christian faith. Staff at Camp Cross will be assigned their own space in our lakeside rustic cabins. Some of these cabins are quite mature, yet they all have electricity and window screens. However, not all cabins are heated and none have AC. Bathroom facilities are gendered, shared and subject to safe church standards. Meals are provided while working on-site during camp sessions and training. There will be a minimum of 24 hours off during each seven-day period. Salaries will be determined based on experience and qualifications. Want to apply? Please send inquires to to [email protected]
