Westfield Athletic Booster Club Meeting Minutes October 14, 2013
Present (10): Brenda Jordan, Bill Davis, Paul Leahy, Bonnie Verhoff, Roger Wachtel, Nellie Beam, Beth Ellis, Brad Harrison, Sheryl Ingram and Jane Kenney nd Motion to Approve September meeting minutes –; Bonnie Verhoff; Nellie Beam 2 motion. All approved. President’s Report – None Coaches Report – nd Cross Country – Assistant Coach Wachtel reported that the boy’s team competed at NCHS and came in 2 . The prior week they won conference by 32 points. Next week will be sectional and then on to regional’s. The boys th st have 5 All Conference including a freshman. Girl’s CC finished 4 in the conference. Girls were 1 at the Delta meet and JV won @ NCHS. Cheer – Coach Ellis reported that the team had competed Saturday at the Central Indiana Cheer Championship meet. The team was very busy with Homecoming which was a success. Treasurer’s Report – Financials were reviewed and approval was tabled until the treasurer could speak on the financials. WHS – Bill Davis Boy’s Cross Country - won conference Girls Golf – Kaylee Purcell made it to regional but missed state by 2 strokes. Boy’s Tennis – continues to improve play Boy’s & Girl’s soccer – team made it to sectional championship but lost Football – rated #1 in the state Winter Sports starts on 10/28/13 Spirit Club Reports – Gridiron – Brad Harrison reported that the Gridiron Club is having a fun raiser at Buffalo Wild Wings th Wednesday, October 16 from 5-8 pm. 20% of food sales will go to the Gridiron. The carwash last month was a hit and they made approximately $2,400.00. Swimming – Sheryl Ingram presented the budget to Bill Davis and introduced Jane Kenney as a co-chair for the spirit committee. Website – Per Bill, the new website is “In Process”. Please give feedback to the Athletic Office. The new website is www.westfieldathletics.com – they are also on twitter @rocksathletics Parade – Per Shannon Russell was a huge success. Old Business – Gaming License – Brad is forwarding Officer Information to the state.
Action Items for November Meeting: Nellie Beam and Andy Tebbe will prepare the Fall Sports recognition article for the Current Magazine for Westfield All Officers/Board members come to the November meeting with any suggestions on the job descriptions – this will be completed at the November meeting The WABC Scholarship form will be reviewed at the November meeting Bill Davis will update the Tax Form with change of officer information Ernie Crawford will speak on a possible fundraiser All Coaches need to stress to their teams of the importance of parents joining the WABC.
Meeting adjourned @ 8:00pm Next meeting will be held Monday, November 11th, 7pm in the LGI room in the high school.
