What is SAP MDG? Master Data Governance (MDG) is a new software product from SAP based on standard SAP technologies
• Back-end is part of ECC • Front-end is web-based (Web Dynpro ABAP) This is not to be confused with SAP MDM which is an older Javabased product providing a master data hub
SAP’s roadmap is to consolidate both products with a new architecture based on SAP HANA technologies (and most likely call this SAP Enterprise MDM) This information is based on informal conversations with the SAP MDG product team and should not be shared externally.
SAP MDG Pricing Indications from Gartner: • Pricing based on database size and by domain • Licenses alone: • Large companies: $500k - $2m • Mid-sized companies: $300 - $600k • Implementation services: • 2-3 times licensing cost
