Talmadge Emmanuel “Tabu” Powell began his peaceful journey to heaven from Carolina Medical Center, Charlotte, NC on December 27, 2015. He was born to Mr. Larry T. Powell and Mrs. Eva Mae Thompson-Powell in Stamford, Connecticut on October 17, 1978. Talmadge received Christ and joined House of Prophecy and Prayer under Dr. Sadie Lee Miles, at a very early age. He was an active member of this church until he moved to Charlotte where he last attended New Life Community Church, with Pastor John P. Kee. Talmadge attended the Public Schools of Stamford, Connecticut where he played several sports including baseball, basketball, and football. His favorite professional basketball team was the Houston Rockets and his favorite professional football team was the Buffalo Bills. After high school, he worked in a grocery store in Greenwich, Connecticut before moving to Charlotte, NC to attend Central Piedmont Community College to transfer to the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Talmadge’s last employment was with Scope, a contracting company of Duke Power, Inc. of Charlotte, NC where he had recently been promoted to a supervisor position. Those Who Remain To Remember His parents; Larry of Stamford, Connecticut, and Eva of Westport, Connecticut, one brother, Shedrick Keon Powell of Bridgeport, Connecticut; a special friend Jasmine Ford of Charlotte, NC; four nieces and one nephew; several aunts, uncles, and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
