Zeta Tau Alpha Lehigh Valley Alumnae Chapter Newsletter

Greetings from the President Hello Sisters and welcome to 2014!! I hope everyone was able to spend lots of time with their friends and families over the holidays. Although I was unable to make it to our holiday dinner, I heard it was a wonderful time and everyone really enjoyed themselves, as well as appreciated our efforts to help others by collecting winter accessories for those in need. As I am sad to leave 2013 behind, since we had such a great year, I am however very excited for what waits for us in 2014. Of course it can't go without saying that our biggest event on our calendar will definitely be hosting Zeta Day on April 5 at Stabler Arena in Bethlehem. Naomi and Milly along with the committee have been doing some excellent planning and it looks to be nothing short of spectacular. Over the course of the next short few months, there are still lots to be done so if anyone is interested in helping in anyway please reach out to either Naomi or Milly! Besides Zeta Day we have some fun things planned including bowling with the seniors from Kappa Iota and Lambda Zeta which will be a great way to get to know the next group of women that will be joining us in the alumnae world. We will also be picking our favorite dessert recipes from Pinterest and bringing them to a relaxing evening at Heidi's house to share with one another. And then to cap it all off before summer begins we will initiate our seniors and have our final sisterhood dinner of the season at Hampton Winds. So many things to look forward to with so many amazing women, its hard to contain my excitement! So again, I hope this latest edition of our newsletter finds all of you happy, healthy, and eager for the many fantastic things ahead. Looking forward to seeing you soon! Zeta Love, Jamie

VP I Programming – Heather Uff Hi girls! Hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season. Now that we are back in the swing of things and with ZetaDay approaching, I wanted to give you an idea of what our planned spring calendar looks like. I also wanted to wrap up and say that we had a great turnout at our 20th anniversary/holiday party at Prime Steakhouse. We had a fun filled evening with many laughs and I look forward to many more exciting events this spring. February 1st – Pink the rink with NEPA chapter. This event is a great way to get out and have a fun evening with sisters from our chapter as well as NEPA chapter. Proceeds from the game benefit American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. February 8th – ZetaDay Committee Meeting at Naomi Pratt’s. February 20th – Alumnae/Sr. Collegian bowling at Town and Country Lanes. Time for some fun with our soon to be graduating seniors! It will be a great time to get to know each other and for them to get an insight into the alumnae world. March 8th – ZetaDay Committee Meeting March 13th – Pinterest Dessert Party @ our sister Heidi’s house at 7pm. March 22nd – ZetaDay Committee Meeting April 4th & 5th – ZetaDay!!!!! @ Lehigh University’s Stabler Arena April 27th – Sr. Initiation & EC Elections @ Leslie’s house. Elections/meeting at 5:30pm, and senior initiation at 6:30pm. May 14th – Sisterhood dinner @ Hampton Winds at 6:30pm. This is a fun way to end our spring semester before heading into summer.

VP II Membership – Heidi Geist Hello lovely Zetas!! Welcome to a new year! To recap 2013, we have had a really great year. We have exceeded our membership goals and planning to make that happen again in 2014. Our next big recruitment event will be the Alumnae/Senior Collegian Bowling event to be held on Thursday, February 20th at Town and Country Lanes. It is a great way to get to know and meet fellow Zeta’s and introduce them to the alumnae world. ZetaDay will be our biggest recruitment event for us this year, since it will be held in the Lehigh Valley on Saturday, April 4th and 5th. I cannot wait to see all of you there! Looking forward to seeing you at many exciting events we have ahead! Zeta Love, Heidi 2

Historian – Cortney Selander Happy New Year, sisters! I can’t believe we are already done with the first month of 2014! We’ve had a ton of fun so far this year in the alumnae chapter, and I, personally, am looking forward to the rest of our activities that are scheduled until the summer. The most exciting of them all will be ZetaDay being held in Bethlehem in April! If you haven’t already seen it, one of our photos from our October’s Pink Out made it into the latest issue of Themis! As the historian for this alumnae chapter, it is very exciting to see one of our submissions used in a publication that so many other sisters see across the country! I will soon be submitting our next report to IO, so keep a look out for the spring issue of Themis to see if we make it again! Also, as a reminder, if you have any pictures that you would like to see either sent to IO in one of our submissions, or just used on our Facebook, Instagram, or webpage, please feel free to send them to [email protected]. Thank you!

ZetaDay Co-chair – Naomi Pratt Hello lovely Zetas!! Welcome to 2014!! Hope everyone enjoyed their holidays and staying warm during this cold weather. Our next ZetaDay planning meeting is on February 8th at 2pm at my house. All are welcomed! Just an update, all planning is coming along quite nicely. Zeta Love,
