Small Group Welcome

Does God promise to give us everything we want or everything we need? Everything we need

Will God be stingy meeting your needs or will He be generous with His wonderful riches? Generous

Introduce yourself, and welcome new kids by name.

Choose a few review questions:

Kids share what happened during the past week.

Check up on the past week’s prayer requests and events.

What’s the best way to find out the truth about who you are? Choose to follow Jesus and get to know God better.

Discuss the Welcome Question: What would you buy if you had a million dollars?

Some things we need can be bought with money. What needs are those? Food, clothes, and a place to stay.

3.

Some needs can’t be bought with money. What needs are those? Love, friendship, peace, forgiveness, salvation, etc.

Why does God know what you really need better than you do? God made me. God knew all about me before I was even born.

5.

What did Jesus do to show He had all of Peter’s needs taken care of? A miracle! He caused a fish to have money in its mouth when Peter caught it—just the right amount of money Peter needed!

Small Group Activity You’ll Need! Craft foam circles (5 per child) Drawstring bag (1 per child) Markers (1 set per group)

To Do 1.

Choose an action step question:

Give kids five foam circles and a drawstring bag.

Say: When we trust and follow Jesus, we’re rich with God’s blessings. Let’s pretend these circles are special blessing coins, and this bag is our blessing bag! 2.

Kids write “Kid’s Name’s Blessing Bag” on their bag with markers.

How can you show others that God meets their needs, too? If I can meet their need, I should. I can pray with them, I can help them, etc.

2.

What do you need from God right now? Answers will vary.

3.

What is the best thing you can do this week when you have a need? Pray to God, and ask Him to meet it.

Ask: What are some of God’s blessings that meet our needs and make us rich? 3.

Help kids with examples if they need it: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, self-control, safety, strength, healing, salvation, grace, mercy, power, hope, forgiveness, faith, freedom, confidence, etc.

4.

Kids write one of God’s blessings on each blessing coin with markers.

5.

Place coins in bag.

6.

If time allows: Kids decorate their blessing bag.

Pray together: 1.

Ask kids to share things they would like you to pray about.

2.

Write down their prayer requests.

3.

Pray together over all the prayer requests. Give kids a chance to lead the prayer if they want to.

Not sure what to pray? Pray this: God, Thank You for meeting the needs of every kid in this Small Group. Please show them Your glorious riches, and how rich they are in Christ. In Jesus’ name, amen!

While Kids Work Ask: Which blessing from God do you need the most right now? Answers will vary.

Stay in your Small Group until kids are checked out.

Ask: How did you feel when Clint left the Konnect space station? Answers will vary. Vintage Konnect Trivia: Clint’s sister, Emily, left the Konnect space station, too. Why did she leave? To lead kids on Bible Adventures
