17th June 2016 Dear Parents, Thank you to all the parents, families and friends who joined us on Sunday, 12th June for the Sacrament of Confirmation service in Church. It was a lovely service and we were very fortunate to have Bishop Philip Pargeter with us to celebrate this special occasion in the lives of our children. Please do your best to take the children to Church each weekend and please keep all those children who have made their Confirmation and First Holy Communion in your prayers. Please remember that school is CLOSED next Thursday, 23rd June 2016 for the European Elections! School will RE-OPEN as normal on Friday, 24th June 2016 for ALL children! We will be having a FUNDAY on Friday - `Up and Physical` - all children should come to school dressed in their sportswear please! The children had great fun last Friday when we celebrated the Queen`s 90th Birthday! We were very fortunate that it stayed dry and the children were able to enjoy the bouncy castles and our `party in the playground` and ice creams. All the children took part in the games and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the Royal Variety performance which finished off the day`s events. Thank you for sending in donations of food and drinks for the party and to all the parents and families who were able to come and join us in the afternoon. Thank you, too, to all the staff who worked so hard to make it such a successful event! The winners of the raffle prizes were: Julia – M2, Angelina – J1, Oliwia – M2, Gerard – M2, Nela – M1, Alexander – M2 and Caitlin – M6. We had some very impressive competition entries in designs. Year 3 Trip to Cadbury Word Our Year 3 children went to Cadbury World on Thursday, 16th June 2016. They went on a tour of the Cadbury World factory to see how chocolate is made. They learnt all about the Aztecs and some of the children were given the opportunity to dress up as an Aztec! They really enjoyed their trip! Transition Day and Reception/Nursery Induction – Thursday, 30th June 2016 Please make a note in your diary that on Thursday, 30th June our Year 6 children will be visiting their new secondary schools and our Nursery and Reception induction will take place. Look out for further details in next week`s newsletter!
Whole School Trip to Weston-Super-Mare – Friday, 1st July 2016 We are taking all the children to the seaside again this year on the above date. Please make sure you return the consent slip if you have not already done so to enable us to confirm numbers. Thank you. Autism Drop-in Session – Wednesday, 15th June 2016 Thank you to all the parents who attended the drop-in session today. We hope it was helpful to you.
Nursery and Reception Trip Our Nursery and Reception children will be going to Twycross Zoo on Tuesday, 21st June. Please return the consent slip and trip money by Monday, 20th June if you have not already done so. Mobile Telephones Can I remind you that the children are not allowed to bring mobile telephones into school. Any `phones brought in will be confiscated and kept in the school office until the end of the day, and must be collected by parents and taken home.
SPORTS DAYS! This year our Sports Days will take place on the following dates: KS1 (Infants) - Tuesday, 12th July 2016 and KS2 (Juniors) - Wednesday, 13th July 2016 These events will take place on Jaffray Playing Fields, weather permitting.
