TRAINING TO BE THEIR BEST The purpose of Northwestern baseball camps is to help each camper grow as a Christian and as a player. We believe God wants us do our very best at whatever we attempt (Colossians 3:23), and we are committed to providing instruction on and off the diamond. We focus on individual and team fundamentals, and we incorporate spiritual principles to provide a fun and challenging environment.
CAMP STAFF
Director Dave Hieb 2016 represents Dave Hieb's 27th season with the University of Northwestern baseball program, with the last 20 as the head coach. A three-time Upper
Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Coach of the Year Award winner, Hieb has led the Eagles in eight of the program's top 10 win-loss records in a season. He also owns more 20-win seasons than all of the other Eagle baseball head coaches combined. Coach Hieb is first all-time in school history for career coaching wins, hitting the 300-victory mark at the conclusion of the 2012 season and owns the record for most seasons as the baseball program's head coach (21), as well as the most games coached in school history. He has led and been featured as a guest speaker at several youth camps and clinics throughout the Midwest. Dave also works with the Minnesota Twins Summer Instructional Program, Twinsfest Instructional Clinics, and serves on the Woodbury Athletic Association baseball board. Camp Coaches Our camp staff features current and past players and coaches from the University of Northwestern, as well as coaches from the Twin Cities area. All staff members are committed to giving each camper individual attention, focusing on the fundamentals of baseball and the Christian athlete. Each staff member brings a key area of expertise of the game to share with the campers.
