[email protected]; 610-436-2152 Jad Prachniak begins his seventh season at West Chester University as the skipper of the Golden Rams baseball squad. Over the last 6 seasons, Prachniak has helped lead the program to two national championships, two regional championships, two conference crowns and a pair of PSAC Eastern Division titles. In six years at WCU, Prachniak has authored a 204-92-1 (.689) overall record and a 34-11 overall postseason mark. The Golden Rams are a combined 16-7 in the PSAC tournament under his tutelage and 18-4 in the NCAA Tournament. The WCU head coach has been lauded as ABCA Diamond Division II national coach of the year twice (2012, 2017) and has mentored the Eastern Division player of the year twice (2012, 2015) and the pitcher of the year twice (2012, 2017). West Chester finished 2017 at 44-11 overall and won the PSAC East regular season crown. The Golden Rams swept through the Atlantic Regional as the No. 2 seed before going a perfect 4-0 in the World Series. Coach Prachniak remains undefeated in NCAA Championship appearances, going a perfect 8-0. In 2012, Prachniak took over a club that was 22-21 and did not make the playoffs in 2011, and he molded that group into an NCAA Division II national champion in his first season at West Chester. The 2012 national title was the first baseball championship in school history, the first by any school located in Pennsylvania at any level of the NCAA, and the first by a Division II school in the Northeast.
