Baseball Camps
The Round Rock Express will be offering a Softball Camp for players ages six and up at Dell Diamond. Campers will be divided into two groups, 6-11 years and 12 and up. The camp will be held August 7-8 from 9 a.m.—12 p.m. Cost for the camp is $99. The camp includes professional instruction on both days, a camp t-shirt and two tickets to a Round Rock Express game held at Dell Diamond. *All campers will receive two free tickets to a future Round Rock Express game*
Shanna Diller, Camp Director Diller currently serves as a special assistant with the University of Texas Softball program. Her responsibilities included the program’s travel coordination, pregame coordinator and summer camp director. Diller played collegiately for the University of Illinois and played professional softball for the Rockford Thunder and Tennessee Diamonds in the National Pro Fast pitch League. From 2005-08, Diller was the starting third baseman for the Fighting Illinois softball program, earning a trio of All-Big Ten Conference selections. Upon completing her eligibility at Illinois, Diller signed a free-agent contract with the Rockford Thunder of the National Pro Fast pitch. The Thunder, behind the pitching arm of former longhorns’ All American Cat Osterman, claimed the 2009 championship with a 2-0 victory over the USSSA Pride in the third game of the series. Diller led the squad with 18 runs batted in during the title-winning campaign. Campers will also learn from experienced softball coaches who are ex-professional players, collegiate coaches and former collegiate players.
Here’s a list of what your camper should bring with them: bat, glove, helmet and athletic shoes (no metal spikes). Water jugs and bat bags are optional. Catchers are asked to bring their own catching gear. Round Rock Express is not responsible for lost items.
