drawing with mark! Let’s practice drawing the planet saturn! Let’s start with a circle. Don’t worry about it being perfectly round.
Stargazing
Add two parallel lines around the circle like rings.
Use the side of your pencil to shade the shape of the planet. Planets are round like a baseball, so curve your shading.

The Big Dipper and Little Dipper move in a circle around the North Star every day. The bowl of the Big Dipper points to the North Star. The North Star is the point at the end of the handle of the Little Dipper.

Navigators used maps of the stars to find their way across oceans, and escaped slaves used the North Star to find their way north to freedom. Next time you are out on a clear night, take a look at the sky and see if you can use the stars to find your way north.

Then erase inside the rings to make them look like they’re in front of the planet. The erasing doesn’t have to be perfect. It helps the rings look uneven and more real!
Stars are more than just beautiful. When you look into the sky, you are seeing ancient galaxies filled with stars that are made up of gasses, dust and other particles that create a bright, shining light. The most famous star in the night sky is the North Star. Imagine being in a place where you don’t have maps, roads and buildings as landmarks to guide you. How can you find your way?
