Let’s practice drawing tyrannosaurus rex! Start with “foundation” shapes like circles.
‘terrible lizards’ D. Tyrannosaurus rex
Start creating the form of the T-Rex using connecting lines and stick figure.
E. Stegosaurus
Now we can start rounding the lines out so they look like muscles and add detail too!
Color it in too if you wish! Send us your drawings— we love to see them!

f you were on Earth 160 million years ago, you would have been faced with some of the largest creatures ever to roam the land — dinosaurs. The word “dinosaur” comes from the Greek word for “terrible lizard,” which is a fitting name. When dinosaurs roamed the Earth, some were the most terrifying predators around, with their large teeth, sharp claws and meat-eating hunger (carnivores). Others ate mostly grass and other plants (herbivores) and had ways to protect themselves. Some of the largest dinosaurs were plant eaters. Paleontologists — scientists who study dinosaurs — are able to put together bits of dinosaur history through the study of fossils. Fossils can tell us much more than just how big dinosaurs were — they can tell us what they ate, how they behaved and what they looked like.
