Allamanda Meeting Business Minutes July 25,2017 Meeting called to order at 1:00 p.m.by Melanie Konopka , President Meeting Minutes: There were no corrections to the June minutes. July minutes will be sent to members via e-mail and will be available upon request. Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer Nancy Wilcox reported there was no activity and therefore no report to give. Membership Report: Jo Loder gave the report. At the present we have 83 members. Please look at the roster and check to make sure all your information is correct. [email protected] Programs Pat Pipa gave a list of many activities and classes coming up in the future. All information for classes are posted on the Guild website: QGOTV.ORG. Once in this website, at USER NAME prompt, type your email address. Under PASSWORD prompt, type your last name in lower case letters. At this time there is a problem with the website and you aren’t able to register for classes. Until the problem is repaired you can call Pat Pipa to enroll in a class. The Guild is working to repair the problem as quickly as possible. Pat reported the next Guild Meeting will be on August 1st, during the day. The meeting is at the Savannah Center. It will be Christmas in July/August and an ice cream social catered by Ollie’s Custard. Doors open at 1:30 and program starts at 2PM. Linda Hungerford will be the featured speaker for the September Guild Meeting. In September a beginners quilting class will be held. Information on it should be on the website in a few weeks. SERVICE COMMITTEE: Pattie Barrett reported for the 4-H group we sponsor. The next meeting is August 19, at the Methodist Church in Wildwood from 10am to 3:30pm. Volunteers are NEEDED. She has 12 to 14 children that need help (one on one). If Allamanda can’t provide enough volunteers she will have to have help from other chapters. A few of the volunteers said that volunteering is a rewarding experience and that the children are eager to learn. It is important that we pass our skills on to the next generations. Pattie told us that Kris Loeffler will be at the 4-H meeting in February and will teach making a ” Wish Baskets”. That is something that the volunteers could learn also.
NEW BUSINESS: The Guild is collecting school supplies for The Villages Elementary of Lady Lake. Lists of needed supplies are on the website. Allamanda is responsible for Sunday’s at Sterling Heights for the month of October, 2017. The time is 11:30AM to 3:50PM. It was thought that we were responsible from September 24 th to the last week in October. We will have the exact dates at our next meeting. Allamanda has the Guild Meeting in October and we will need a lot of people to help. A volunteer sheet was passed around. There will be a budget meeting on August 1st before the Guild Meeting at 1PM. Our Treasurer, Nancy Wilcox will attend. Claudia Mielinski showed a quilt top, called Stars Surrounded. She will send the directions to Pat Pipa and she will send them out to members. A Shop Hop Passport is being held 7/21/17 to 8/5/17. Seventeen shops are involved and Passports are $10. Old Business: Melanie told us that Carol Riggs project of Pillow Cases for Ryan’s Case for Smiles has 343 cases and we have until November to do more. [email protected] Market Place Update: It will be held January 19,20 at the Rohan Center. January 18th from noon to 10 P.M. the venders will be setting up. Lois Rose reported that Allamanda is responsible for Vender Angels. Lois will have sign up sheets at our next meeting. Show Case 2019: Allamanda is in charge of Demos. Faye McCarrell is our representative and Joan Keltner said she would be back up. ( I looked back in the May minutes and saw that Claudia Mielinski said she would be a back up also.)
