I would first like to say I had a great time at EFAM, I am so grateful to the IAAP Foundation for the scholarship so I was able to attend. I have met some great people at this conference. I was impressed with all the keynote speakers, Jill Farmer who talked about having enough time, J.R. Martinez who was inspirational talking about Respecting Yourself in the choices you make and Jeff Havens who talked about Uncrapifying Your Life. I laughed so much during that session and put things in perspective. I also was the delegate for The Fox Cities Chapter; honestly I was very nervous about the business meeting but am so glad I experienced the business part for IAAP. I also was able to vote on behalf of our chapter for the officer positions. The education sessions I enjoyed the most was: Being a Better Mentor, Building Networking Relationships, and Innovate like a Mouse. Many had great tips and things to take back with me to apply to my job. As a scholarship recipient, I was also to participate in a reception on Saturday evening, and also was recognized at the luncheon on Monday. It was wonderful to be able to sit at the table with the international board. I was sitting there in awe and was so honored to be sitting there with a couple other scholarship recipients. The final reception was great, the food was excellent and the tables were decorated so elegantly. Although I had a lot to take in at this conference being the first one I attended, overall it was a great experience, I had a great time in Anaheim, CA and will be planning on attending next year in Milwaukee, WI! Hope to see many of you there as well.
