“As Christians acknowledge their failures together, they testify to the world that the plausibility of the Gospel is rooted not in their performance, but in the faithful mercy of God.” – Mike Cosper Rhythms of Grace God, this morning we confess that we have longed deeply for the comforts and treasures of this world more than for your enduring kingdom. We long for that better house, more fulfilling job, just a pinch more money in our bank accounts. We have long for a less busy schedule and to have children that simply listen to their parents and do what their told the first time. Lord we confess that we have loved the gifts more than the Giver. So God, in your mercy, would you help us to see that things we strive for are just a shadow and that you are the true substance. These things we long for are just sinking quicksand, but you, Lord Jesus, are the Mighty Rock. The things and circumstances of our life are always shifting, but you, O Lord, are our forever anchor. We plead this morning for your forgives through the riches of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Leader:
“The men tossed Jonah into the sea,
and they were saved from the waters rage. Another group of men nailed Christ to a cross and we are saved from sin's wrath. For three days Jonah was inside a fish. Death did not claim him. For three days Jesus was inside a tomb. Death did not defeat him. And by his victory, we are swallowed by grace and forever fixed to eternity. We don't belong to death either.” – Kaitlin Wernet (SheReadsTruth.com)
