SAL TAORMINA • Kean University Junior • First Baseman • Brooklyn, NY/Xavieran Taormina earns NJAC Player of the Week honors after hitting .875 (7-for-8) with five walks, three RBI, four stolen bases, and five runs scored during a 3-0 week of play for the No. 15 Cougars. He opened the week by going 1-for-2 with two walks, one stolen base, and two runs scored during a 6-0 victory over FDU-Florham. That same day, Taormina went a perfect 4-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored during a 5-4 victory over St. Joseph’s-LI. He wrapped up the week by going 2-for-2 with three walks, three stolen bases, two RBI, and two runs scored during a 12-4 victory over Old Westbury.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

MIKE OCCHI • Kean University Sophomore • Left-handed Pitcher • Hillsborough, NJ/Hillsborough Occhi earns NJAC Pitcher of the Week honors after helping the No. 15 Cougars record their season-opening victory over St. Joseph’s-LI. He tossed eight innings of relief, entering the game in the second inning. He allowed six hits, struck out four batters, and allowed just one run during the 5-4 victory over St. Joseph’s-Long Island.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

MONNY STRICKLAND • Rowan University Freshman • Outfielder • Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township Strickland earns NJAC Player of the Week honors after hitting .333 (2-for-6) with one double, one walk, three RBI, and one run scored during a 1-1 split with Oswego State this week. He went 1-for1 in the first game, recording one double and one RBI during a 3-2 victory in game one. In game two, he went 1-for-3 with one RBI, one walk, and one run scored during the 9-8 defeat to Oswego.

ROOKIE PITCHER OF THE WEEK

CHRIS ROSSI • Kean University Freshman • Left-handed Pitcher • Branchburg, NJ/Somerville Rossi earns NJAC Pitcher of the Week honors after collecting his first career win in his first collegiate start for the Cougars against Old Westbury. He allowed just three hits, one run, walked two batters, and struck out two during five innings pitched in the 12-4 victory over Old Westbury.
