ANDREW NIECH • New Jersey City University Senior • 1B/DH/C • Avenel, NJ/Colonia Niech earns NJAC Player of the Week honors after putting up big numbers in NJCU’s 2-1 week. He batted .615, going 8-for-13 and homering in all three games while driving in nine runs. He blasted a two-run game-tying home run in a loss to Lehman. He ramped up more in the following game, going 4-for-5 with another home run in a win over St. Joseph’s (Brooklyn). He wrapped up the week with a 3-for-5 performance with his third home run of the week and five RBIs in a 10-9 road win at Drew. With the nine RBIs last week, Niech moved into the top 10 in school history in career RBIs (86) and upped his batting average to .446 on the season.
PITCHER OF THE WEEK
BILLY JACKSON • Rutgers-Camden Senior • Pitcher • Estell Manor, NJ/Buena Regional Jackson picks up his second straight NJAC Pitcher of the Week honor after hurling eight shutout innings of two-hit ball in Rutgers-Camden’s 13-0 win over Johns Hopkins. He struck out nine, while allowing just two hits and one walk. With the win, Jackson improved to 4-0 this season and lowered his ERA to 0.96. Jackson has struck out 31 and walked only one in 28 innings this season.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
RYAN ZUCKER • Rutgers-Newark Freshman • Infield • Mountainside, NJ/Governor Livingston Zucker earns his second NJAC Rookie of the Week honor of the season after hitting .333 to help lead Rutgers-Newark to a 2-2 week. He recorded hits in three of the four games, including a 2-for3 outing in a win over Centenary. In the field, he also committed zero errors in 14 total chances while recording six putouts and eight assists.
ROOKIE PITCHER OF THE WEEK
ANTHONY ROSOLINE • Rutgers-Newark Freshman • Pitcher • Prospect Park, NJ/Paramus Catholic Rosoline earns his third NJAC Rookie Pitcher of the Week honor after picking up his fourth win in five starts this season. He spun six innings of shutout baseball while striking out five and scattering five hits in an 8-0 win over Baruch College. He worked out of a bases-loaded jam in the first inning with two strikeouts, and allowed just three hits the rest of the way. The rookie sports a 3.16 ERA, and has given up three or fewer earned runs in four of his five starts this season.
