CHINESE NEW YEAR We will soon begin the Chinese Year of the Horse, and this mission may make you want to eat like one. Your objective this week is to celebrate the Lunar New Year by eating Chinese cuisine. It’s a terrific time to join the many Canadians who have discovered that the “Chinese food” created for Western palates decades ago is not a true representative of the breathtaking variety and subtlety of genuine Chinese cuisine. Still, who are we to say no to an egg roll? Whether you want to graze on dim sum, explore the GTA’s various Chinatowns for authentic dishes or stick to Canadianized classics, share your good food fortune with your fellow Gastroposters.
