Company Registrations, Q2 2016
4 July 2016
There were 1,212 businesses registered in Buckinghamshire in the second quarter of 2016 (April to June), according to Companies House. Only nine of the 39 Local Enterprise Partnerships bettered England’s rate of new company registration, with Buckinghamshire ranking 12th, with 28.8 registrations for every 10,000 residents aged 16 or over. Buckinghamshire ranked 3rd among county council areas behind Hertfordshire and Worcestershire. The number of companies registered in Buckinghamshire between April and June was 95 (7.3 per cent) lower than in the same quarter of 2015, with only Aylesbury Vale seeing an increase over the year. While the most new businesses among Buckinghamshire’s districts were registered in Wycombe (402), South Bucks recorded the highest registration rate at 44.8 for every 10,000 residents, the 39th highest of all 380 local authorities in Great Britain and 16th highest outside London. No other Buckinghamshire district bettered the national registration rate.
