Course Overview This seminar aims to provide Maltese businesses with a practical guide on the competition rules in the daily operation of their business. Competition rules affect most facets of the operation of a business and therefore any company, whatever its size, must consider and comply with competition law. The benefits of compliance are self-evident. Companies involved in anti-competitive behaviour, even if ignorant of this fact, risk being fined up to 10% of their turnover. In addition, in the light of the recently enacted Competition Law Infringements (Actions for Damages) Regulations, companies today may also have to provide compensation for the harm caused for a breach of the competition rules. Understanding the basics of competition law in practice pays.
