MATERIALS

Worsted Weight Yarn [3½ ounces, 190 yards (99 grams, 174 meters) per skein]: Color A (Black) – 5 skeins Color B (Green) – 2 skeins Color C (Purple) – 1 skein Crochet hooks, sizes E (3.50 mm), G (4.50 mm) and K (7.00 mm) or sizes needed for gauge Polyester stuffing Yarn needle Embroidery Floss – Black Embroidery needle ¼" Buttons – 2 (Eyes) ¾" Buttons – 2 (Blouse) Yellow and Orange ribbon

MARKERS

Markers are used to help distinguish the beginning of each round being worked. Place a 2" scrap piece of yarn before the first stitch of each round, moving marker after each round is complete.

HEAD & TORSO (Make 2)

With medium size hook and Color B, ch 9 loosely. Row 1 (Right side): Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across: 8 sc. Note: Loop a short piece of yarn around any stitch to mark last row as right side.

ARM (Make 2)

GAUGE: With medium size hook.

Rows 15-17: Ch 1, turn, decrease, sc in each sc across to last 2 sc, decrease: 14 sc. Row 18: Ch 1, turn; sc in first sc, (decrease, sc in next sc) 3 times, decrease twice: 9 sc. Row 19: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. Row 20: Ch 1, turn; (decrease, sc in next sc) 3 times: 6 sc. Rows 21-23: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. Row 24 (Neck): Ch 1, turn; 2 sc in each sc across: 12 sc. Row 25: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. Row 26: Ch 1, turn; sc in first sc, 2 sc in next sc, (sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) across: 18 sc. Row 27: Repeat Row 2: 20 sc. Rows 28-38: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across; at end at Row 38, finish off. Row 39: With right side facing, join Color A with slip st in first sc; ch 1, sc in each sc across. Rows 40-56: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. Finish off. With wrong sides together, sew seam, stuffing to the following measurements before closing:

Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around: 12 sc. Rnd 3: (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc) around: 16 sc. Rnd 4: Sc in each sc around. Rnd 5: (Decrease, sc in next 2 sc) around: 12 sc. Rnd 6: (Decrease, sc in next sc) around: 8 sc. Rnd 7: Sc in each sc around. Rnd 8: 2 sc in each sc around: 16 sc. Rnds 9-43: Sc in each sc around; do not finish off. Stuff Arm to measure 13" long and 4½" around. Rnds 44 and 45: (Decrease, sc in next 2 sc) around: 9 sc.

Rnds 46 and 47: Sc in each sc around; at end at Rnd 47, slip st in next sc, finish off, leaving a 12" end for sewing. Thread yarn needle with end and weave through remaining sts, pulling tightly to close; secure end. Sew Arm firmly to side, 1½" below Neck.

BOOT & LEG (Make 2) Rnd 1 (Right side): With medium size hook and Color A, ch 4, 3 dc in fourth ch from hook; join with slip st to top of beginning ch: 4 sts.

Stuff Leg to measure 18" long including Boot. Rnds 63 and 64: Decrease around; at end at Rnd 64, slip st in next sc, finish off, leaving a 12" end for sewing: 5 sc Thread yarn needle with end and weave through remaining sts, pulling tightly to close; secure end. Sew Leg firmly to lower edge.

Note: Mark last round as right side Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each of next 2 dc, loop a short piece of yarn around last dc made to mark beginning point for Rnd 3, 2 dc in last dc; join with slip st to top of beginning ch-3, ch 8 loosely, finish off. Rnd 3: With right side facing, join Color A with slip st in marked dc; ch 1, sc in same st and in next 2 dc, sc in top of beginning ch-3, sc in next 7 chs, 3 sc in next ch; working in free loops of ch, sc in next 7 chs, sc in next 3 dc, 2 sc in last dc; do not join, place marker: 26 sc. DRESS

BLOUSE FRONT With smallest size hook and Color A, ch 31 loosely. Row 1 (Right side): Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across: 30 sc. Note: Mark last row as right side. Rows 2-28: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across. Finish off. BLOUSE BACK Work same as Blouse Front. Sew side seams from beginning ch to Row 14. Sew shoulder seams, leaving a 3" neck opening. NECK EDGING Rnd 1: With right side facing and medium size hook, join Color A with slip st at shoulder seam; ch 1, work 30 sc evenly spaced around neck opening; join with slip st to first sc: 30 sc. Rnd 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in same st, 3 sc in next sc, (2 sc in next sc, 3 sc in next sc) around; join with slip st to first sc, finish off. SLEEVE Rnd 1: With right side facing and largest size hook, join Color A with slip st at underarm seam; ch 1, work 30 sc evenly spaced around armhole; do not join, place marker. Rnds 2-23: Sc in each sc around. Rnd 24: Decrease around: 15 sc. Rnd 25: (Decrease, sc in next sc) around: 10 sc. Rnd 26: Sc in each sc around; slip st in next sc. SKIRT Rnd 1: With right side of Blouse Front facing and smallest size hook, join Color A with slip st in side seam; ch 1, working in free loops of beginning ch, sc in same st and in each ch around; join with slip st to first sc: 60 sc. Rnds 2 and 3: Ch 1, sc in each sc around; join with slip st to first sc. Change to largest size hook. Rnd 4: Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each of next 8 sc, 3 dc in next sc, (2 dc in each of next 9 sc, 3 dc in next sc) around, join with slip st to top of beginning ch-3: 126 dc. Rnds 5-20: Ch 3, dc in next dc and in each dc around; join with slip st to top of beginning ch-3. Finish off.

HAT

Rnd 1 (Right side): With medium size hook and Color A, ch 2, 3 sc in second ch from hook; do not join, place marker. Note: Mark last round as right side. Rnd 2: 2 Sc in each sc around: 6 sc. HAIR

With 3 strands of Color C, add Fringe Hair in free loops on Rnd 26 of Hat.

NOSE

Rnd 1: With medium size hook and Color B, ch 2, 3 sc in second ch from hook; do not join, place marker. Rnd 2: 2 Sc in each sc around: 6 sc. Rnds 3-9: Sc in each sc around. Rnd 10: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around: 9 sc. Rnd 11: (Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around: 12 sc. Rnds 12 and 13: Sc in each sc around; at end of Rnd 13, slip st in next sc, finish off, leaving a 12" end for sewing.

FINISHING

Sew buttons on front of Blouse. Put Dress on Doll. Sew ends of Arms together firmly. Sew Hat to Head and trim Hair. Lightly stuff Nose and referring to photo, sew to face. Add buttons for eyes and embroider mouth. Lace Orange ribbon an each Boot and tie in a bow. Holding remaining ribbon together, tie in a bow around waist.
