Our giving tree will be set up in the Narthex of Church. Each classroom will have tags with wish list items. If you are able to purchase items, pick a tag and place the purchased item under the tree.
Thank you for supporting St. John’s.
Winter Weather Winter weather will be here soon! Please send winter gear for your child so they can enjoy recess. It is also extremely helpful for items that are labeled. School closings: St. John’s closes or delays when Portage Public does. We also send out a Fast Direct Broadcast informing families of closures and/or late starts.
We need your help! Please join us on Saturday 12/3/16 at 8:00am-Noon to set up the Christmas tree in the Sanctuary of Church. We need help with the initial set up of the tree, decorating the tree with lights and hanging ornaments. The more volunteers we have the faster the set up goes! Please consider helping us prepare for the Christmas Season here at St. John’s.

In the near future we hope to be posting new signage outside of our school! We have decided that it would be beneficial to have a designated main entrance to the school and CDC. The main entrance for visitors and families will be the driveway between the 2 buildings. Keep watch for the new signs!
We need your support to attend the 2016-17 School Auction. The school auction is our main fundraiser for the school. The proceeds from the auction have been used in the past to purchase Smart Boards, chrome books, and iPads for our students. As a school we count on this money to help make ends meet with our budgeted resources. This year we plan to do some much needed upgrades to our playground. This year we will be changing it up a little and will have a spaghetti dinner with a silent auction on Saturday March 11th after the 5:30pm service. We encourage all families to attend, there will be activities, a variety of items to bid on, and great fellowship for all. Please continue to watch for more information on this event. Our next planning meeting will be Tuesday, November 22nd at 6:30pm, please plan on joining us!

Dear Parents, We appreciate you sending your child(ren) to St. John’s where we can plant the seeds of faith that they will take with them out of our doors. Giving your child a private education can be a sacrifice financially, one we firmly believe worth making. At St. John’s, we are always looking for ways to help our families, and in turn our ministry. The Scrip Program that we utilize at St. John’s is not reaching anywhere near it’s potential. Would a $200+ offset from your child’s tuition be helpful? Through this program, most businesses where you spend your money issue a rebate to St. John’s for dollars that you spend using Scrip cards ordered through our offices. Half of that rebate supports the ministries of St. John’s, and the other half can be designated towards your child(ren)’s school tuition. We place weekly Scrip card orders on Tuesdays at NOON for pick up on Thursdays at NOON. According to the United States Department of Labor Consumer Expenditure Survey the average American household spends $3,983 on groceries, $2,904 out to eat, $1,885 on clothing and $2,275 on gas per year. If you buy Scrip cards to pay for what you are already buying each year, the following may look familiar: Gas: $2,275 x 4%(Kwik Trip) = $91.00/2 = $45.50 tuition or lunch credit Groceries: $3,975 x 4%(Pierce’s) =$159/2=$79.50 tuition or lunch credit Dinning out: $2,900 x 8% (varies but averages) =$232/2=$116 tuition or lunch credit Clothing: $1,885 x 4%(Kohl’s)=$75.4/2=$37.70 tuition or lunch credit
Total for the year $278.70 for tuition or lunch by using Scrip for what you already buy!
Please contact the church office for details on getting started!
