TWO WAYS TO WIN WITH SMART SNACKS HOW TO MAKE SMART SNACKS WORK FOR YOU: • Child Nutrition (CN) entrées served on the reimbursable line can also be served on the à la carte line the day menued, plus the following day. • An item on the reimbursable menu at least twice a week (Mon and Wed or Tues and Thurs) can therefore be offered on the à la carte line 4 out of 5 school days per week.

• When offered on the main reimbursable line, the product does not have to follow the smart snacks-specific nutritional requirements. • You can successfully menu any Schwan’s Food Service school product on your à la carte line. • Serve entrée items that meet the specific smart snacks nutrition requirements.

• No more than 350 calories per entrée item
• Be whole-grain rich, OR
• No more than 480 mg sodium per entrée item
• Have a vegetable, fruit, dairy, or protein food listed as the first ingredient, OR
