Best Seller Coaching: Module 7 – Lesson 5 – Twitter

Twitter is a little bit of an exceptional case when it comes to building your social media presence. Due to the gradual decrease in its popularity over time and the fact that the platform hasn’t really generated much revenue since its inception it’s safe to assume that one day this social media site might one day disappear. That being said however, it’s still up there at the top with the big names in social media so it’s wise to create a presence on it while it’s still relevant. Twitter is all about short, punchy messages that grab attention and spark interest.

The Twitter homepage is displayed to the left of this text. It’s being updated all the time so what you see here will not be what it’ll look like if you go look at it now. If you need an account the sign up process is very straight forward. When creating an account for your author you’ll want to see if you can get a “twitter handle” which is just a twitter name, but you want one that sounds cool, something that’s memorable. Humor works well on twitter. Alternatively, if you can actually manage to get a twitter name which is exactly the same as your author name, all the better. Setting up your twitter profile is pretty straightforward and similar to Facebook in many respects. Once your profile is set up it’s good to: Start following profiles which look relatable to yours Start posting tweets but don’t spam, people will just ignore them Make your profile look “legit” and not like it’s been set up strictly to market your books and you’ll find it will get your more followers
