Did you know that I am related to the tasty little green garden peas, but you can’t eat me! Originally I came from Italy and my flowers come in every colour of the rainbow, except yellow.
Sow my seeds: March-May
Choose a sunny site in the garden with weed-free soil. Before planting, soak your seed in warm water for a couple of hours. Sprinkle the seed 7.5cm (3") apart and 13mm (½") deep. Lightly cover with soil and water well. You can also sow your seeds indoors, one to a 7.5cm (3") pot and grow them on a sunny window sill before planting them out later.
Care of your Susie Sweet Peas
Soon you should see tiny young plants appear. As the plants grow feed them with plant food. Remove the central growing tip above 3-4 pairs of leaves for bushier plants and more flowers. Plants will need some support as they grow.
