2015 FALL LEAGUE STATE CHAMPIONS!

2015 FALL LEAGUE STATE CHAMPIONS! A fantastic fall soccer season for Wright County Soccer Club GU13 Fusion team was capped off this past weekend at the State Tournament in Rochester by winning the state title. The Fusion qualified for the State Tournament by winning the West District in their age group in fall league play. In League play, the GU13 Fusion, coached by Andrew Taylor, won the West District with an undefeated 5-0-1 record. The competition was much tougher at the State Tournament, where the U13 Fusion met previously undefeated teams from Hudson (WI) and Ramsey County. With gritty play, the Fusion prevailed in close games with a 1-0 win over Hudson and a 2-1, come-from behind win against top seed Northern Lights (Ramsey) to advance to the final. The final game pitted the Fusion against a tough North Metro squad, but after a long stretch of deadlocked play, the Fusion were able to control play and get momentum, eventually getting the go ahead goal and never looking back.
