2015 FALL LEAGUE STATE CHAMPIONS!

2015 FALL LEAGUE STATE CHAMPIONS! A fantastic fall soccer season for Wright County Soccer Club GU11 Rapids team was capped off this past weekend at the State Tournament in Rochester by winning the state title. The Rapids qualified for the State Tournament by winning the West District in their age group in fall league play. In League play, the GU11 Rapids, coached by Ariel Johnson and Rochelle Grover, won all six league games for a perfect 6-0 record, scoring an astounding 52 goals while giving up only 5. The competition was much tougher at the State Tournament, where the U11 Rapids managed tight victories over River Falls and Cambridge to advance to the final. The final game against Owatonna was a hard fought battle, with Owatonna scoring first. But the Rapids battled back for a come-from-behind victory and prevailed 2-1, with a late goal just minutes before the final whistle.
